On Thursday the 8th of December we will begin work on an ethnobotanical garden for the college. We have been cleared by the president and the director of maintenance to utilize the area around the well-head by the college junction. The area already has some locally significant plants.
On the 8th of December we will work outside clearing and cutting a space in which to put plants and then planting plants. I will be asking singles, pairs, or trios of students to bring a plant of significance for their culture to plant.
What plant would you bring and, more importantly, why?
That is, explain why that plant would be important to have in the garden from the perspective of your culture and of ethnobotany.
The essay will be worth up to 25 points.
