As part of the Urban Ethnobotany project we would go to the botanicas, like this one, Botanica Reyes, located in the upper section of Manhattan in Washington Heights, which is a predominately Dominican community. Based on the Census from 2000, NYC has the largest Dominican population in the US (425,000).
