The following table records the results of an experiment done by the SC 120 Biology students at the COM-FSM Palikir campus. The students were studying the rate of respiration for yeast and how the rate varies with temperature. The students measured the rate of respiration by placing the yeast in a sugar and water solution at a fixed temperature and then counting the number of CO2(carbon dioxide) bubbles produced per minute by the yeast. The students repeated the experiment for other temperatures.
Temperature/Celsius | CO2 bubbles/minute |
---|---|
19 | 0.6 |
28 | 2.9 |
29 | 4.3 |
34 | 15.7 |
39 | 21.3 |
