TC NAUTILUS LAUNCHING
April 30, 2003

The Training Cutter Nautilus was christened and launched on the 30th of April 2003 at the boat ramp for the Yap Fishing Authority. Remarks for the christening and launching ceremony were given by Captain Matthias J. Ewarmai, the Director of the Institute, Mr. Theo Thinnifel of the Yap Fishing Authority, and Mr. Tsutae Sato, the Chief Advisor of the JICA project at the Institute. Following the brief ceremony on the dock, the students were able to launch the cutter and had their first feel of what rowing was like. The Director in his remarks conveyed his heart-felt gratitude and appreciation to Tokyo University of Fisheries of Japan for its generosity and kindness in donating the training boat for the Institute. TC Nautilus is one of the pride of FMI.
