Duties:
Under the direction of the HR Director, the Administrative Specialist I is responsible for the following: Assist with recruitment/repatriation/job offer, advertisement, research responsibilities, update electronic polices and make hard copies for distribution, draft letters for job applicants, coordinate hiring committees, maintain and update electronic and hard copies of forms for IAC, ASC, MiCare, Drug Free Forms, etc., housing search for new hires, assist state campuses regarding hiring process, provide assistance to both Personnel and Staff Development committees, provide clerical and technical assistance to other HR staff, filing and logging of documents to and from HR on a regular basis, serve on committees; and perform other related duties that may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education with extensive working experience with computer software programs used at HR or a BA degree in computer science with extensive working experience providing clerical support to a small fast pace office, or a BA degree in other related field with demonstrated success in handling the duties of this position. At least 2 years of related work experience is required; one year with computer related work and one year in clerical support capacity. Specifically, a successful candiate must have strong knowledge and skills in computer software program such as MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to speak and write in English with analytical skills and strong mathematical and grammar background. Candidate must demonstrate strong team oriented skills, successful work experience, professionalism, is well-organized, detailed oriented and good work ethics. Initiative and successful experience handling confidential matters is a plus.
