The Palikir Elementary School Library was started in April 2001. School staff built bookshelves and installed an air conditioner and computers and equipment were donated by the National Government. With the help of Peace Corps Volunteer Sara Krosch, the library's collection now contains over 2,500 books all donated from organizations and individuals in Micronesia and the US. Students enjoy reading books and magazines during recess.
