IEP STUDENTS VISIT NAN MADOL
On Thursday, October 21, close to 70 IEP students and faculty made the long trek to Madelemihwm to study the famous ruins of Nan Madol. For many students this was their first visit to the island’s most famous archeological site. The visitors were duly impressed. Many students commented on the beauty and magnificence of the site.
Local expert, Reggie Lawrence, was on-hand to inform the students of the site’s history, based on archeological evidence as well as oral tradition. Students are currently studying culture and community in IEP courses.
