Course Objectives:
To help students improve their academic writing and
learn to write essays in a variety of different rhetorical modes. Sentence structures, as well as grammar will
be stressed. Learning to edit and
rewrite compositions is also very important.
Course Work:
Every week you will be expected to complete exercises
from the textbook. Supplemental
material will also be given to you on the nature of writing and the structure
of the English language and this will count towards your grade as well.

Writing Assn: 20% Four short papers
Assessment: 20% (Class Participation/homework)
Mid-term 20%
Final 40%
A=90—100
B=80—89
C=70—79
D=60—69
F=Below 60
Class Attendance:
Students who are absent for more than four sessions
can be automatically dropped from the course.
A total of four includes both excused and unexcused absences.
