Course Objectives:

To provide students with interpretive and analytical skills needed to evaluate and draw inferences and conclusions from essays, text books, analytical data, and literature, so they can write essays and research papers in an academic manner.

Course Work:
Every week you will be given reading assignments from the textbook, newspaper and magazine articles, or literary material.  It is important that you read the assignments before coming to class so that we can discuss them during our meetings.  You will have frequent quizzes on the reading material, as often as once a week.

A=90—100

                                    B=80—89

                                    C=70—79

                                    D=60—69

                                    F=Below 60

 

Class Attendance:

Students who are absent for more than four sessions can be automatically dropped from the course.  A total of four includes both excused and unexcused absences.

 

If you come more than ten minutes late to class you can be marked absent for half the class.  If you come more than twenty minutes late, you can be marked absent for the whole class.
