OFFICE HOURS  12:00 NOON-1:00 PM in the IEP Room  

COURSE DESCRIPTION:   This course will improve students overall proficiency in math skills using English as the medium of instruction.

TEXTBOOK:         No Textbook

Reference: book: Pre Algebra An Integrated Approach by Aufmann & Lockwood Preliminary Edition

GRADING POLICY:            The following approximate scale will be used to determine your final grade.

                90 – 100 = A

                80 – 89    = B

                70 – 79    = C

                60 – 69    = D

                Below 60  = F

Final Grade will be computed on the basis of:

                90%                        Math Grade (M-Tu-W-F activities)

                10%                         Integrated Project Grade (Thursday activity)

                 5%                          Attendance Grade (added to the sum of the above)

 The Math Grade will be computed on the basis of:

                50%        Long Exams (tentatively 7 for the semester)

                20%        Midterms

                30%        Finals

• 5% Bonus is awarded to perfect attendance. Each absence is a point deduction from the Bonus.      
• An average of 89.5% before the Finals exempts a student from taking the Final Exam. The basis for this is (Average of 7 quizzes times 50% plus midterms times 20%)               divided by 70%
• Unexcused absence from an exam will result in a zero for that exam. If you will be absent on a particular day, you must inform the office or me before the class to qualify for a make up.
