  Grading –     Weekly quizzes = 400 points (25 points each)    A = 900 – 1000 points

                        Participation     = 360 points (9 points a day)                B = 800 – 899 points

                        Mid-term           = 120 points                                        C = 700 – 799 points

                        Final                 = 120 points                                        D = 600 – 699 points

  Attendance – If you miss a class (sickness, funeral, skipping) it is YOUR

           RESPONSIBILITY to find out what work you missed and to complete that

           work. College policy states that after 6 absences you will be withdrawn

           from the class.

  Course Description – This course will prepare students to communicate effectively

                                        “on the job.”

  Course Objectives – By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1)      identify and define industry signs and vocabulary

2)      communicate effectively and respectfully using both the telephone and email

3)      give clear instructions and follow instructions

4)      list relevant job skills

5)      prepare a resume

6)      identify the skills necessary to be successful in an interview
