The area around the Hoshino Noritake memorial stone includes ground orchids. The stone is on the hill to the south of the gym. This area includes Ananas comosus (pineapple), Ocimum tenuiflorum (kadaring), and Ixora cochinensis among other plants.
A line of plumeria has been planted parallel to the cliff line. The tree is a guava tree (kuapa).

Walking to the southeast towards the grave by the Acacia auriculiformis. The grave area includes Selaginella, a member of Lycophyta, Clerodendrum inerme (ilau), and a couple of cycad pups.
To the west from the grave, below the berm, is an Alpinia carolinensis (iuiu).
Next to the grave is Premna obtusifolia (topwuk). In the past these topwuk have been cut - in general the tree is considered almost a weed. In this case the plant is being maintained as an important medicinal plant of Pohnpei.
Back towards the northeast from the grave are Ixora casei (ketieu), Cyperus alternifolius, Cestrum (night jasmine), Cananga odorata (ilangilang, sehr en wai), and Jasminium sambac (jasmine, sampakihda). These plants are upwind of the cemetery and intended to fragrance the cemetery day and night.

Towards the east southeast from the second grave is an avocado tree and a Piper methysticum plant.
To the south of the cemetery, on the slope of the hill, is Cymbopogon citratus, and a variety of Cordyline fruticosa.
There is a nice view from this location. The valley includes Campnosperma brevifoliata (dohng).
Rebar, metal pipes, and rods near eye level are found throughout the cemetery as a result of the Chinese gym construction project. Do be careful!
